Celebrating twenty years of showcasing new developments and innovations within the cosmetics and personal care industry, In-cosmetics is hosting their annual show on April 13-15, 2010, in Paris.

With the aim of bringing together leading cosmetics suppliers, R&D, production and marketing specialists, In-cosmetics showcases a range of new and innovative cosmetics ingredients and services.

This year, a new addition to the exhibition line-up – regulatory seminars – will focus on the new European Regulation on Cosmetic Products, and a comprehensive overview of the cosmetic regulations in Asia. Aimed at those involved in R&D and regulations, a panel of industry experts will provide an overview and offer advice regarding key changes and positioning products.

The focus for this year’s show is the exploration of ‘the creative synergies between fashion and beauty’, underlining the fact that fashion and beauty have always been interlinked. Included in the exhibition will be the popular Innovation Zone, showcasing the latest ingredients and products, as well as boasting an interactive demonstration space. Other parts of the show include a presentation on marketing trends, a seminar that focuses on innovation, a scientific workshop, and ending with an awards ceremony.

The Sustainable Cosmetics Summit is a series of international summits that focuses on the leading issues the beauty industry faces concerning sustainability, natural, organic, fair trade and ecological products. The aim of the summit is to encourage sustainability in the beauty industry by bringing together key stake-holders and debate these major issues in a high-level forum.

The summit is scheduled to take place in New York, March 24-26th, 2010.  The summit will cover major industry issues such as natural and organic cosmetic marketing challenges, Eco-labels and standards, ethical sourcing, financing and investment options and technical hurdles.

Horst Rechelbacher, founder of Aveda and Intelligent Nutrients, will once again open an Organic Monitor summit with his opening keynote ‘Inconvenient Truths for the Beauty Industry’. Mike Indursky, Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer of Burt’s Bees, will show how sustainability can be integrated into a company’s business ethos. Other papers in the Sustainability Pathways session will look at practical approaches to reduce the environmental impact of cosmetic products.

The summit will consist of four main sessions:

• Session 2: Eco-Labeling and Regulatory Developments

• Session 3: Best-Practices in Marketing Ethical Cosmetics

• Session Four: Investment & Formulation Issues

Like previous summits, in attendance will be key stake-holders in the beauty industry that include cosmetic manufacturers, ingredient & raw material suppliers, retailers & distributors, industry organizations & certification agencies, researchers & academics, investors, etc.
